Keystone Training Group traces its beginnings back to 2016, when Matthew Dowd acquired VTS Training. Shortly after, Thomas Atkinson came on board and together they laid the foundation for the alliance we now proudly call Keystone Training Group. Since our inception, we’ve embarked on an impressive journey of growth, powered by our steadfast dedication to delivering exceptional customer value, a relentless commitment to service excellence, and the strength of our robust, proven systems.

Rob Gordon , Chair

Rob invests in health and training professionals challenging norms to build outstanding teams and achieve superior results for clients and their families.

With over 30 years in vocational rehabilitation and employment services, he's consulted for major Australian and international organisations. Rob's entrepreneurial journey includes extensive experience in Private Equity business transactions.

Guiding the WorkFocus Group for nearly three decades from 1989, he shaped a dynamic national business recognised for excellence and industry-leading corporate services.

Rob currently invests in and Chairs the boards of four privately owned Allied Health and Education businesses, including Keystone Training Group and the Ear Science Institute Australia.

Tom Atkinson , Co-Founder

Tom, CFO and Director at Keystone Training Group, began his entrepreneurial journey as a Director at Nomads World in 2005, driving corporate acquisitions that transformed it into a leading budget accommodation provider.

Co-founding MAPT Developments in 2009, Tom served as CFO, steering the growth of Cherratta Lodge into a multi-award-winning enterprise with major contracts from Woodside Energy Ltd and Rio Tinto.

Transitioning to Training and Development in 2021 he co-founded Keystone Training Group, overseeing nationwide expansion of high-quality Vocational Education Training services. Committed to mentorship, Tom actively supports entrepreneurship through roles in the Entrepreneurs' Organization (EO), where he held Director of Finance positions for the Perth chapter in 2016 and the Barcelona chapter in 2018.

Matthew Dowd , Co-Founder

With 18 years of executive leadership in mining and logistics, Matt seamlessly transitioned to a dynamic business owner in 2016, bringing operational expertise, business acumen, and a growth-focused mindset.

Committed to excellence, he envisions and cultivates a diverse portfolio of high-quality Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) and VET-allied businesses.

Matt's strategic approach empowers individual companies under his leadership to deliver exceptional service and social value, capitalising on scale advantages and top-tier executive management.

In 2016, he acquired Vocational Training Services, transforming it from three employees to 35 staff across seven sites, and has lead the broader Keystone Training Group as co-founder and CEO since inception. Matt's dedication to quality, industry insight, and continuous learning marks him as a transformative leader in education.

Geoff Reiser

Geoff, a seasoned strategy expert, is renowned for bringing clear thinking to complex situations. With over two decades of experience, he has collaborated with senior leaders, delivering pragmatic, actionable, and robust solutions across a spectrum of organisational requirements.

As the Founder and Managing Director of Haeberlin Consulting, Geoff extends his expertise in strategy consulting to Boards, Executives, and founders of fast-growth businesses and start-ups.

Geoff earned his Bachelor of Commerce from Curtin University, majoring in Marketing. He is currently serving as a board member of Future Living Trust, WestCycle, and Keystone Training Group where he brings a wealth of strategic insight. His past board and advisory memberships include the National Disability Recruitment Coordinator Advisory Panel (a Federal Government disability employment service), WorkFocus Group Board, and Curtin University's School of Marketing Advisory Board.
